Stable performances of optical parametric chirped pulse amplifiers (OPCPA) require both precise spatial and temporal overlap of the interacting pulses. TRUMPF Scientific Lasers has developed an active synchronization system reducing the pump-seed timing jitter to a few femtoseconds. This solution is available as a stand-alone device and can easily be implemented in any OPCPA or other optical-optical systems.

The Dual Output Option (DUO) is an add-on to our Dira laser series (Hyperlink to Dira), particularly relevant for optical parametric amplifiers. A fraction of the laser beam is split off the main laser output to create a second low-power beam. Both arms can be attenuated individually by a remotely controlled waveplate and a thin-film polarizer.  

The low-power arm features an additional pulse compressor, which allows for a distinct pulse duration from the main output. In this way, the system can be set to deliver a high-power output with longer pulse duration (few ps), while the secondary low-power beam can be compressed down to its transform limit (ca. 600 fs, or according to Dira model).
